Associate members can join SSE online, or by printing and mailing a membership form. Full, Emeritus, and Student members must print and mail a membership form (see below).

MEMBERSHIP PLANS
Student Member ($35/year)
Students are encouraged to join the Society at special reduced student rates, and to apply for Associate or Full membership when they have completed their studies. To qualify for student rates, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution. Please include a copy of your most recent class schedule with your membership form (see below).
Emeritus Member ($65/year)
Retired persons may apply for Emeritus status. Please print and mail the membership form (see below).
Associate Member ($75/year)
Any person who supports the goals of the Society is welcome to become an Associate member. Join online, or by print and mail the membership form (see below).
Full Member ($95/year)
Full members may vote in SSE elections and hold office in SSE. Full Members are scientists or other scholars who have an established reputation in their field of study. Most Full Members have the following qualifications: (a) a doctoral degree or the equivalent; (b) an appointment at a university, college, or other research institution; and (c) a record of publication in the traditional scholarly literature.
To apply for Full membership, you must include the following information with your membership form:
- curriculum vitae
- bibliography of your publications
- name of Full member willing to sponsor your application
