Intelligent Design: Ready for Prime Time?

Intelligent design (ID) is outside the mainstream of science. Is it likely to move into the mainstream in the future? Continental drift, reformulated as plate tectonics, did make this move. A comparison of the course and nature of research in the two areas does not suggest that ID is likely to follow suit.
