Complete Conference Program & Abstracts

Auditorium Location
Espace Cléry - 17, rue Cléry - 75002 Paris - Métro Sentier ou Réaumur
It is a very nice place in early 1900 style, recently renovated and in the city centre.
If you come from the Istria hotel, you take the Metro line #4 at Raspail dir. Porte de Clignancourt and you drop out at Réaumur Sébastopol. Then you can either switch to line 3 dir. Pont de Levallois and drop out at Sentier (first stop) or you can walk down the Rue Réaumur to cross Rue Cléry.

The International Program Committee is chaired by Dr. Ezio Insinna (Bioelectronics Research Association, SSE European Coordinator, PSA board member) and includes Prof. Peter Sturrock (Stanford University, SSE Founding president), Prof. Charles Tolbert (University of Virginia, SSE President), Dr. Marc-Williams Debono (Neurobiologist, PSA president), and Dr. Morvan Salez (Astrophysicist). Each theme will be represented by invited addresses complemented by short contributed papers.

Abstracts of proposed short contributions, no longer than 500 words, should be sent before June 30th, 2003 to eminsinna @ wanadoo.fr. A booklet of abstracts will be prepared for distribution at the meeting.

Additional discussion forums are scheduled during the conference days. The proceedings of the conference are planned to be published.

The conference banquet will take place on the evening of Saturday 30th, at the panoramic Restaurant Altitude 95 located on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower. The cost will be 57 euros including elevator access, cocktail and wine (33 euros for a vegetarian menu without wine). A boat trip on the river Seine may also be reserved if enough participants express interest. Sunday afternoon is kept free for excursions in the Paris area.

The PSA ResearchGroup is hosting the meeting and coordinating registration. The chairman of the Local Organizing Committee is Marc-Williams Debono (PSA president). The registration fee is 90 Euros for early registrations (payment before June 15th, 2003); 110 Euros after May 1st; 50 Euros for students (student card needed); and 40 Euros for a day session. The fee includes a copy of the abstract booklet, coffee breaks, and refreshments.

The number of participants is restricted to 120 due to the limited auditorium capacity, so that early registration is strongly recommended. Registration will be made on a first-come first-serve basis and will be secured only upon payment, made by:

  • Bank cheque in Euro drafted to "Plasticites-Sciences-Arts" and mailed to: Marc-William Debono, 12 rue du Champ de bataille, 91310 Longpont sur Orge, France.
  • Bank transfer to the "Plasticites-Sciences-Arts" account (IBAN : FR78 20041 01012 4062427X033 20, BIC: PSSTFRPPSCE)

  • I will attend the meeting: YES (include payment)/PERHAPS
  • Banquet: YES/NO/PERHAPS/Number of people in party
  • Boat trip: YES/NO/PERHAPS/Number of people in party

Note: We warn participants that hotels all over Paris will be filling up at the period of the SSE meeting due to several large international events (including the world athletics championship). Since most hotels are small (30-40 rooms), early reservation is strongly recommended. Pre-payment is usually not necessary.

We have contacted two hotels within walking distance of the conference venue. When you make your reservation (preferably by e-mail), please mention that you are attending the SSE meeting to get the correct rate.
