Synopsis:

This talk draws on research for each audience toward understanding how best to communicate psi research and a post-material approach among the skeptical, the cynical, and the curious. Is it a matter of appealing to their minds, their hearts, or both?

Research conducted privately for the Scientific & Medical Network, Frontier Journalists’ Network, and Psi Games illuminate each audience’s interests and needs – and they differ. The findings reveal the challenges and opportunities of engaging them in the topic, and the insights drawn from the case studies combine with best practices for strategic communication to form a “blueprint” toward increasing the visibility and the credibility of frontier science.

The case studies demonstrate that there is no single approach to communicating evidence of the noetic sciences. Rather, messages need to be adapted for each audience’s comprehension and usefulness. This talk covers the fundamentals and includes practical recommendations for relating science to these groups in a meaningful way. The guidance can be applied beyond the noetic sciences.
