Synopsis:

One of the most mysterious anomalies of the past half century is virtually unknown in America. For over 30 years, complex geometric patterns have been appearing overnight in wheatfields near the ancient stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury. But after an initial period of excitement, the British media has been busy trying to debunk these so-called crop circles and American media has largely been mum.

Nevertheless, crop circles have produced tangible, verifiable and inexplicable physical evidence of an anomalous process at work. They can serve as a bridge to the domain of UAP/UFOs because they have been directly experienced and validated by thousands of people but have no clear terrestrial explanation.  This talk will cover my ongoing research into several aspects of the crop circle phenomenon, focusing on the key role of the Earth’s biofield as an organizing principle. If Gaia is a living being, as indigenous peoples say, then she should have a biofield. Then indeed, the magnetosphere is her aura, sacred sites are her chakras, and ley lines are her acupuncture meridians around which the crop circles seem to gravitate.

I’ll outline their historical context, the geomantic reasons for their focus in southern England, their poorly understood objective aspects (magnetic field anomalies, iron microcrystals, nodal expansion in the otherwise intact wheat stalks, ghost images in the field in following year), the unusual subjective experiences induced by the circles (synchronicities, altered states of consciousness (ASC)), and theories about their origin and function.

I will outline my plans to extend previous research in my upcoming Summer 2026 visit to the UK, by presenting photographs and vignettes from my prior experiences within crop circles (including aerial images of famous circles, maps of ley lines, close-up photos of affected wheat stalks), as well as possible explanations that range from conventional (man-made hoaxes - the military/CIA) to paranormal (sacred geometry embedding new frequencies as guided by non-terrestrial intelligence). I will be seeking feedback from SSE members regarding the fine points of magnetometric analysis, dowsing, and ASC explorations at megalithic sites (especially Avebury) and any crop circles that happen to “crop up” (sorry!) during the time window of my trip.

Biography

Dr. Eric (Rick) Leskowitz was a consultant psychiatrist for over 25 years with the Pain Management Program at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, where he founded the Integrative Medicine Task Force. He holds an appointment at Harvard Medical School, has studied energy healing, meditation and hypnosis for over 40 years, and has had 50+ articles published in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals.  He has also edited three textbooks, and his documentary film about group energies and sports, The Joy of Sox: Weird Science and the Power of Intention, was broadcast on PBS. The Mystery of Life Energy is his latest book (www.TheMysteryOfLifeEnergy.com).
